The town of Hvar on the island of the same name attracts many visitors because of its numerous historical monuments. We shall visit the 17th century Theatre and the Arsenal dating from the 13th - 14th century, and enjoy a walk around its squares lined with churches and palaces of different architectural styles. The Franciscan Monastery is famous for its collection of paintings, the best known among them being Ingoli’s Last Supper. Early in the afternoon we continue our hydrofoil sail up to the highest island in the Adriatic Sea-Brač, also the third largest Adriatic island, for a visit to a picturesque little town called Bol. There you can visit the Dominican monastery with a rich library and archive and an ancient cellar for tasting local wines. Free time for swimming or sunbathing on the famous sandy beach called Zlatni Rat (Golden Promontory).
Die Stadt Hvar auf der gleichnamigen Insel weist sehr viele kulturhistorische Denkmäler auf, die für den Besucher von grossem Interesse sind. Das Theater aus dem 17. Jhdt., das Arsenal aus dem 13. und 14. Jhdt. und die vielen Kirchen und Paläste in verschiedenen architektonischen Baustilen sind einen Besuch wert. Das in der Stadt befindliche Franziskanerkloster ist bekannt durch seine Bilderkollektion alter Meister; das berühmteste und wertvollste darunter ist "Das letzte Abendmahl" von Ingoli. Weiter fahren wir nach Bol, wo sich das Dominikanerkloster mit seiner reichen Bibliothek und Archiv über die Geschichte der Insel befindet, sowie der bekannte alte Weinkeller. Ein besonderes Vergnügen ist Baden und Sonnen am berühmten Goldenen Horn ein 500 m langer von dichtem Pinienwald unsäumter Sandstrand.
